Our Commitment

The Beard Struggle is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, including accommodations for blindness, low vision, deafness, hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these.

Measures Taken

  • Comprehensive accessibility audit of all pages against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria
  • Keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements
  • Screen reader compatibility with proper ARIA attributes and semantic HTML
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios for all text and interactive elements
  • Alternative text for all meaningful images
  • Focus indicators visible on all focusable elements
  • Skip navigation link to bypass repetitive content
  • Responsive design that supports text resizing up to 200%
  • Respect for user preferences such as reduced motion

Accessibility Widget

We offer the UserWay Accessibility Widget as an on-demand tool for additional adjustments including text sizing, contrast controls, dyslexia-friendly fonts, cursor enhancements, and more. To activate the widget, click the "Accessibility Widget" link in the footer of any page. Once activated, the widget icon will appear on screen and remain available for the duration of your session.

Automated Testing

We run automated accessibility scans using axe-core on every code deployment. Our continuous integration pipeline tests all pages against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria, and any failures block deployment until resolved.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full conformance, some limitations exist:

  • Some product videos contain spoken content; captioning for these videos is in progress.
  • The checkout experience after "Checkout Now" is hosted by Shopify Inc., which maintains its own accessibility compliance.
  • Certain third-party embedded content (analytics, chat widgets) may not fully conform to our accessibility standards.
